What does a repair technician do?

A good repair technician believes this is a craft, not just a job.

A repair technician is:

• an educator
• a musician
• a problem-solver
• reliable and honest

All these items (and more) work interdependently as skills for a dependable repair technician.

Why is it a craft and not just a job?

A good repair technician supports music and music education through their skills and advice. As an instrument repair technician you never stop learning; you are always the student.

“As someone that is very protective of who touches, let alone repairs, my instruments, I know I can always trust Jen with a professional instrument and get top-notch professional work in return. Her attention to detail, treatment of every instrument as if it were her own, and high personal repair standards set Jen apart from many repair technicians in the field.”

“Ms. Francisco repaired an alto sax for us and we were extremely pleased. The sax had been stored in a garage for over 40 years and was a mess. I couldn’t believe it was the same instrument when she was finished. We will definitely recommend her to anyone who is in need of repairs.”

“Ms. Francisco often had an idea of what was wrong with my instrument before she even looked at it. She was always willing to make time for it in her schedule, fix the issue, and return it to me quickly.”
